Pioneer Leader's Conference 2011 - personal reflections from Rick Hartwig of Hertford CC
I was so blown away at the 2010 Pioneer Leader's Conference by the 24/7 worship, and the general vibe that I was determined to see to it that a wider audience from HCC derived a direct benefit.
I issued a challenge to a number of our young people come along and spend 24 hours in worship. Five took up the challenge but could not stay the course, the other three of us chose to go and get some much needed beauty sleep. I personally did not get involved with many of the sermons, rather choosing to stay involved in the main hall most of the time. Ian was challenged in areas of evangelism. I asked all for some high lights and lowlights of the weekend:-
Highlights Ross - catching up with old friends and a surprise opportunity to lead worship from midnight to 1am! Luke - deciding to become a Christian because of the whole weekend. Nello - finding myself and see how much God really loves me.
Lowlight: Ross leading worship at 1am... had few of my friends around as support, some, but not all... Luke - felt left out from the people I went with. Nello - falling asleep instead of staying up.
