StrathNairn Community Church
Strathnairn Community Church was born out of one cell group of six people that started meeting together in 2006. Seeing us run our first Alpha Course in 2007 and then another in 2009. Due to growth in 2009 the cell group multiplied into two groups. Also at the same time a youth cell and children's cell started to meet every two weeks. These four groups continue to meet separately and together and then excitingly in January 2010, what had now become Strathnairn Community Church, with 35 committed members both young and old, began to meet monthly for Sunday meetings in the local community hall. We have consistently seen visitors (both Christians and not yet Christians) join us to worship God together, see Him move in us and through us. We have since the outset been joined by another family meeting with us every month. During the year a lady who did our second ALPHA course started coming to the Sunday meetings bringing along her parents which is fabulous. Our first meeting saw a not yet Christian visitor's leg lengthen! There have been significant times of prophecy and healing for individuals and families over the course of the year.
Some highlights from the year would include: In the summer the Church hosted the BBQ for the Strathnairn Hall 10 year Celebration, which was a great way to serve the community, followed by serving DNA by helping out with accommodation, food and lifts, etc, when DNA's final residential was held at the Hall. Just before Christmas we had the privilege of hosting 20+ school carollers for a round of carols, a five minute chat on Why Christmas?, mulled wine and a mince pie or two!!
