Inspire Key Leader's Breakfast - October 2010
The leader of New Life Church Rob Purnell and I, were having one of our many chin wags, about our personal journeys with Christ and our crusades for reformation in His church, when suddenly and with a smile Rob extended an invitation me, of what he described as a breakfast gathering with a few core Inspire members.
On Saturday morning I was promptly at Rob’s home, and from there we set out to Naz and Jo Pambakian’s home in Ealing, North London, where the event was hosted. We were possibly the first to arrive, despite taking a few wrong turns.
It was on the way I learnt that Pete Gilbert, Inspire’s Leader, would be there along with a few other core leaders. At this stage I was not sure I should really be on this trip, but I trusted Rob’s judgement, and was ready to mix and establish friendships.
Naz and his lovely wife Jo pull out the stops in preparing for and serving breakfast, it was great and the conversations revelatory, engaging and poked at times by Pete, it was fill with the character of Christ. There at that table, I had what I describe to myself as a God Moment, I had an image of us gathered at a table with Jesus, and His Presence was there!
The second half of the morning was also very engaging as we were all asked by Pete to share in a few sentences what we did in our local churches and what were our challenges at that time, we then prayed for each other which was again a great experience of body ministry.
For me the experience was great, that morning gave me yet another glimpse of what God wants to do amongst His people across the UK, which is, to cultivate an atmosphere for God to be revealed in all His splendour, as we show love for one another. It was an experience I want more of.
God’s Peace and Blessing to you all.
