Update on Bless Community Church
We are looking forward to a new term and academic year ahead. We’ve sent some of our students off to their universities; we were really pleased to have a stall at the Thames Valley University Freshers’ Fair and have welcomed at least six students to Bless in the last couple of weeks.
Our plans for this term are in full swing and include: 1. Alpha: Our latest course was launched with supper on 29th September at a local café. Four guests attended and we expect that more will join as the course itself starts next week – with home-made
cakes to enjoy!
2. Bless Day Conference: Saturday 6th November - we are thrilled that Maggie Ellis will be our guest speaker. Do read this inspiring article about her from the Times. http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/comment/faith/article3318492.ece
3. Teaching Series: A new series is being launched on 10th October, ‘The Brilliance of Jesus’. We are pleased to have both in-house and guest speakers.
4. Other Activities: Members of Bless are involved in many different outreach activities, including, ABC, Danceabout and Midweek Sparklers – aimed at under 5s and their parents/carers; Ealing Street Pastors; Ealing Soup Kitchen; Kick Football Academy; Back to Reality (youth events); Alpha at Wormwood Scrubs Prison, etc. We also had stalls at various local festivals, offering children’s craft activities and giving away free popcorn and water!
5. Christmas: We’ll be having a fun Christmas party and barn dance on 12th December and our Christmas service on 19th December, both great opportunities for inviting guests.
