Inspire Open Day @ Jubilee Bromley - June 2010

The focus on mission with workshops on Alpha, Reaching Young Families, Fun Days and Open Youth Work was a magnet to me. I was really keen to learn more about Jubilee Church’s youth work as we have started an open youth group which is proving to be very ‘interesting’!! It was great to hear about the challenges, changes and opportunities which Jubilee’s group has faced over the years. I appreciated Derek and Jackie’s frankness and it is energizing to hear others speak with passion. It was great to be able to quiz them and get copies of some of their paperwork (not my strong point!) I ended the session feeling that we are going in the right direction, that I can come back to Derek for further advice and that my own passion for young people was fanned.

The added bonus for me was the reflective worship led by Phil Moore focusing on ‘Light’. That week, I had been struck by Psalm 18:28 ‘my God turns my darkness into light’ as I was praying for a recently bereaved family I am supporting. To spend time in the worship thinking about light was very restorative for me – so thanks a lot Phil.
