An International Perspective
Last year as I was settling into blissful retirement I was prophesied over that I would be going to three countries I had never been to before. I was soon off to Southern Ireland - where I had never been - to help lead a tent mission. On my return I found a request from Adrian Hawkes asking if I would teach in his Leadership School in Kenya and then two weeks later a retired Pentecostal pastor asked if I would go to Uganda - and the three countries prophesied came into view.
So in May I went with John & Christine Noble to speak at the Empowerment for Destiny Conference in Kampala, Uganda. There were pastors from Uganda, Rwanda, Kenya and Congo present and they appreciated the ministry which we brought to the conference. The church we were with in Uganda - Agape Church - also held a medical outreach led by a Christian team of doctors, nurses, dentists and physiotherapists. Agape is based on the edge of a slum and 300 people came to the surgery(!) in the church buildings.
I also spoke over the radio three times - once from a Christian studio and twice from a secular station that broadcast counsel and help concerning HIV/Aids to 50,000 market workers.
One of the speakers at the conference has a work in Nairobi, Kenya and he has invited me to go there - so my trip to Adrian's Leadership School in November looks like being extended into other areas.
There is so much that we have in our histories as "house churches" that is new and refreshing in other countries. In India recently the pastor spoke of receiving revelation in every meeting I had spoken in - but I was preaching truths that have been a part of house church teaching for many years.
