Inspire Key Leader's Breakfast
So maybe Ealing seemed to be a long way to go for breakfast, on a Saturday morning. And maybe I didn’t know quite what I was expecting or hoping for, as I knocked on the door. But the welcome was warm, the food was good, and the support and fellowship of the other leaders was fantastic!
Having been part of the leadership team at Guildford Community Church for a number of years, I have now become overall leader, and I am having to get used to a change in perspective, and the increased sense of responsibility which goes with it. But it is still quite a change and a challenge, so to be able to meet with other leaders for a Saturday morning, and receive encouragement, support and understanding, as well as prayer and words from God, was just what I needed.
It is so important for us to widen our perspective from our local church and local situation, but so easily we find our time being filled with the cares and troubles of the day to day life of running church. By meeting together with others, sharing our lives and experiences, we can challenge the limitations and expectations that we can so easily have put on us, or even put on ourselves. And even better, we can allow God space to speak into our situations, and bring fresh truth and revelation.
I am excited about the future plans that God has for Guildford and Guildford Community Church, and I am very glad that there are opportunities to share the journey with others across the church.
