DNA Update
Easter seems an age away now but the DNA trainees had a fantastic time at Spring Harvest seeing kids saved and filled with the Spirit for a first time. They worked with hundreds of children, singing songs, organising teams, being gunged and praying alongside children who give their lives to Jesus. It was both tiring and stimulating. It’s a great opportunity for them to serve and gain experience beyond their own church. The trainees have just returned from their international trips where they have served churches in Norway, Germany and Belgium for two weeks in prayer and mission. These weeks have been strong times when God’s Spirit was active in and through each of them.
There is a growing emphasis on the DNA’ers giving out as we go through the Spring and Summer. This is true as they carry increased responsibility in their own churches as well as through events such as those above. For so many of them, this means living out the healing and wholeness that God has established in them. In answer to the prayers of so many, the February residential week was again a focused time for the deliverance and deep work of God in their lives. For a number of them, they would confirm that it was a week that clearly changed their lives. As ever, God was wonderful.
For us as a DNA team, things move on as well. We are delighted that Hannah Shewan who is youth worker at Wickford, is joining us as a team. Hannah has done DNA and Online and also has been a strong support alongside the DNA team since then. She will be a significant addition to us. We also plan towards next year, with our second year changing from Online to DNA+ and running in two parallel tracks from 2010 to 2011 (a Leadership track and a Prophecy track). The recruitment for next year’s DNA is underway too with currently an encouraging 17 people having applied. When we pray about this, God answers, so please do pray for next year as well as those currently on DNA and Online.
