Notting Hill Carnival - Europe’s Biggest Street Party - Jackie Blanchflower
 August Bank Holiday weekend is Carnival time in North Kensington. It is a fantastic opportunity to bless and share the gospel with people from literally all over the globe. The Latymer Christian Fellowship meets in the Carnival area and together with other local churches has been involved in prayer and outreach events during Carnival for a number of years. One year DNA trainees joined with us in outreach on local estates during the run up to Carnival and then took part in a variety of evangelistic activities during Carnival itself. 24/7 prayer in the week up to Carnival has provided a focus for Christians from a number of churches to come together in intercession and prayer walking the area.
This summer saw YWAM London gather together and train 40 people for mission during Carnival. Other local churches also engaged in mission activities. On the Sunday of Carnival, Bless Community Church joined with us at Latymer to pray and to lift up the name of Jesus in worship. Everyone got a flavour of Carnival as the floats passed outside the building we meet in and revellers came in to use the toilets!
