Sixteen Kenya - Adrian Hawkes - july 2009

At prayerThis was my sixteenth visit to Kenya. This time I went to launch a new Leadership Training programme. Over the next two years three days every two months we will take leaders and give them new perspectives for theology and practise. I went with Jackie Oliver from Generation Church to deliver the first three days. Jackie is also the Executive Director of Through the Roof a charity that supplies wheel chairs all over the world and who already has a distribution centre based in Kenya. Jackie took the 40+ students through a 'Theology of Disability' and I did the same on the subject of 'Servant Leadership'.

In previous visits we have been able to assist in funding of the following:

  • Orphanage mainly boys but with Girls placed in safe homes
  • Garage which will create vocational training for Street boys and orphans
  • School at the moment with around 130 pupils and growing
  • Church which also is growing
  • Sure 24 twice weekly feeding programme
We are looking at taking a group for a show around next year if you are interested please contacts us.
