Eden People

Eden People is a Guildford-based Christian ministry (now under the umbrella of the Matrix Trust a Christian charity based in the town) established in 1998, initiated and led by Colin Brice. The Eden heartbeat is to evangelize creatively amongst people – spiritual searchers, alternative lifestyles and different community groups with faith or no faith – those who would not have a desire to make a conscious connection with Christian believers or the Church.

This ministry came out of Guildford Community Church after a small home group decided to focus on their locality in a low key way to meet with and serve people that was both non-threatening and ‘connected’ with up-to-date issues such as the environment.

Eden take the gospel outside church buildings and Christian ‘safe areas’ into galleries, pubs and cafes; Mind, Body, Spirit exhibitions; music and New Age festivals and gatherings such as Glastonbury and Guilfest. Eden People takes issues such as the environment, justice, spirituality and the creative arts as connection points for God to use. Our main emphasis is on grace, listening to people, discerning their hearts and understanding their beliefs before sharing elements of our own faith. Eden People as a ministry is creating a ‘blue print’ for creative mission all over the UK.
