DNA - 20 Years of Training
It’s hard to believe that DNA (and before that Tie Teams) has now been running for a total of 20 years. (Pete Gilbert must have been a teenager when he started.) In the last 20 years around 900 trainees have gone through year long programmes and 2,500 have been trained through short term missional opportunities. It’s such an amazing investment for the Kingdom. Because DNA has been around for so long now, it’s easy to underestimate the significance of its ministry, which has extended not only to individuals but has also worked with other training providers in helping them develop their initiative. Organisations such as The Message, YFC, Urban Saints, and ALOVE have all benefited from the experience and expertise that the DNA team have to offer. So a really big thank you and well done to Pete Gilbert, Tim Raynes, Guy Bevir, Caroline Rouse (the current DNA Team) and those who have been part of the team over the years. We will probably never fully know the significance of the training that has taken place, but certainly Pioneer Churches have benefited enormously, with so many of those who carry responsibility of leadership now having at some point been trained through DNA/Tie Teams.
